Arc Mobile 729M 3G Tab review

At last, I can tell on my asssesment on my first tablet check on Arc Mobile. Here's my review on Arc Mobile 729M 3G tablet.

The form factor is one of the best for a budget tablet coz of the really small bezels compared to it's number of counterparts as you already saw in my unboxing. The interface is not 100% Android Jellybean but it is pleasing to the eyes.

For calls, messaging and internet, I love that it has one regular and micro SIM slot both capable in 3G. I had no problems on receiving and making calls on both SIMS. Both SIM slots are capable for 3G in all of the available telcos here. Sending and receiving messages were a breeze. WiFi reception is also good.

As this device has only 1 GHz Mediatek MT6572 dual-core processor, you can only do basic tasks and social media. For playback, the best that it can do is to play HD videos.

For audio and video, the display is a-ok for its WVGA display. One thing that bothered me was the audio jack which is not CTIA compliant so I had no choice but to use the provided earphones inside the box. No surprise factors for the audio both thru the said output and the single speaker at the back

For benchmarks, here are the results. No wonder for over 10,000 on Antutu. Good thing that it has 4 sensors and has 5 point multi touch

On my video battery rundown test, it lasted for 6 1/2 hours which is a-ok for it's small 2,800 mAh battery capacity. On my daily test, I can max out this device for about 14 hours of mixed usage with 4 hours of screen time.

One more thing, the analog mobile TV is probably one of the worst that I saw in the number of feature phones and Android devices that I experienced with the said feature. All of the usual places that I went around the metro, I can't get a clear reception even the UHF channels.

Pros: Smallest bezels that I saw so far for a local tablet, good battery life, 3G mobile internet reception, calls, texts.
Cons: non-CTIA compliant audio jack, poor analog TV reception, outdated OS

Arc Mobile 729M 3G Tab is still available in Arc Mobile stores around the country for Php 3,995
