I did not miss to check out the follow-up to the Liquid X1. Here's what I had to ther Acer Liquid X2.
Front: 13 MP front camera with flash and f/1.8 aperture, 5.5 inch IPS HD display, Acer logo
Back: 13 MP rear camera with flash and f/1.8 aperture, Acer logo, single speaker
Internals: 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6753 octa-core processor, triple micro SIM, triple standby, LTE capable, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, Android 5.1 Lollipop and 4,000 mAh battery.
Top: 3.5 audio jack, noise cancelling microphone
Bottom: micro USB port with OTG (according to one Acer PH exec) and pin hole microphone
Like in the Liquid Z630, both the power/unlock button and volume rocker are located at the right section.
And to check out the f/1.8 aperture of both cameras, I brought home some camera samples shot in low light in the event's venue at Metrotent, Pasig

First impressions: With and without the flip cover, the Liquid X2 looks more premium compared to X1 and compared to today's available devices with the same SoC. One challenge to the brand is Php 4,000 more than the next expensive MT6753 device but you have to consider the 4,000 mAh battery, DTS sound and the 13 MP front cam with flash and f/1,8 aperture which really produced great output (I really took my face into that selfie). Based on my observation, it was really triple standby. Good thing, I sent an SMS to the SIM 3 number (the demo unit has 3 SIMs inside with Globe, Sun and Smart) and it got my message.
Acer Liquid X2 is priced at Php 11,990.
