Acer Liquid Z530 hands-on, benchmarks, camera samples, specs, price

And I'm jumping to the midrange devices from the recent Acer media event so here's what I had on this device with dual 8 MP cameras, the Acer Liquid Z530.

Top: LED notification (I have to confirm if this only works for charging), 8 MP front camera with f/2.4 aperture, 5 inch IPS HD LCD display and Acer logo
Bottom: 8 MP rear cam with f/2.0 aperture and flash, Acer logo speakers (back cover has a brushed metal design but made in plastic
Underneath: Android 5.1 Lollipop, 64-bit 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6735 quad-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM, micro SD up to 32 GB, dual micro SIM, LTE capable (for both SIM slots) and 2,420 mAh battery.

Top: 3.5 mm. audio jack, power/unlock button
Bottom: Micro USB port, pin hole mic, opening for removing the back cover

The remaining volume rocker is on the right side.

Both 8 MP cameras can only shoot at 4:3 aspect ratio so if you want to take a pic at 16:9 aspect ration, both will go down to 6 MP. It has 5 point multi touch. On Antutu, I'm surprised that it has over 27,000 unverified score on Antutu. Far better than the one device from a local brand with the same SoC, screen size and screen resolution (even though it only has half of the RAM and ROM). It is like a typical score for a 1.4 GHz MT6592 octa-core SoC.

And the camera samples which is already good enough for my standards despite of the price tag. Definitely, a lot better than the previous Acer device that I had which is the Liquid Z520. Both were shot on low light in Metrotent in Pasig and no flash. For a change, I took a different take on my selfie.

From the UI, speed, camera and build, I'm happy so far with what I found out on the Liquid Z530. My cons for me (based on 1 Acer PH executive said to me but I hope he was wrong once I had a chance to do a review), no USB OTG (I can't test it at the event as there's a security alarm enabled) and no LTE only option for connectivity (Acer has 3G/4G mode for this one and to all of the LTE-capable smartphones that they showcased at the event)

Acer Liquid Z530 is now available in Acer stores and accredited resellers for Php 5,990.
