After a few number of first looks, it was my first time to review something from local tech brand Ekotek. For a change, it is not a smartphone or a tablet.
It was the Ekotek 2-port USB Wall Charger. This small plug allow you to charge 2 devices via micro USB to replenish back to full battery at the same time. So this is how the packaging looks like:
And the important sides of the USB plug which looks like a dice.
Based on the pack and the plug itself, it can produce a max. output of 2 amperes which is not clear if in each of the 2 USB slots or it will be divided by 2. Coz of that, I tested it mainly on replenishing my smartphone and powerbanks which I am already aware of it's charging time.
First off when I used it straight for over 12 hours of charging. In the number of days that I tested it, I found no problems whatsoever on my stress test to this plug.
For charging devices, I tested my Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure, Asus Zenpower and Xiaomi 10,400 mAh powerbank. On the said smartphone, it just it the expected charging time. Before charging those two powerbanks, I already knew that the Zenpower and Mi powerbank can be fully charged in 6 hours using a 2 ampere charger that I got. When I used the Ekotek plug, I was able to do 0-100% charging in around 8 hours. A bit delayed but it is good enough plus the fact that I am helping in a way in the house by leaving 1 available slot for another plug for those in need.
For the price of Php 349, it is not bad considering that you are paying for a quality product and the brand like Ekotek. The performance is average for me and the form factor is very good so I'll gonna give it 4 out of 5. You can buy the Ekotek 2-Port USB Wall Charger at Ekotek kiosks around the country
