Samsung Philippines has done a nice move to put in a tablet that can be placed in between their latest entry-level Galaxy Tab 3V and their high-end Galaxy Tab S. This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen
Nothing at the top as you can check out the single speaker, 3.5 mm. audio jack, micro USB port and pin-hole mic. Yes, this tablet can do calls and texts.
There's also nothing at the left as you can find the volume rocker and power/unlock button. There is also a micro SD slot and micro SIM slot which are covered by a flap cover.
For those who want to check it's Antutu, it got a score of 19,282 and it has 5 point multi touch.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A with S Pen is now available in Samsung Mobile stores and authorized dealers for Php 15,990
Samsung PH officials introduced the tablet with 4 of their ambassadors which came from various fields like Jowee Alviar and Mon Punzalan (Team Manila co-founders), interior designer and stylist Nix Alanon and Reese Fernandez-Ruiz of Rags2Riches. All of them agreed that the Galaxy Tab A with S Pen can help them ignite some ideas in their chosen fields.
Let's go to my hands-on. The front view has 8 inch display with 764 x 1024 screen resolution in 4:3 aspect ratio, 2 MP front camera, standard menu and back capacitive keys and the signature Samsung home button. The back has 5 MP rear camera and Samsung logo. The main camera can shoot HD videos while it's 640 x 480 for the secondary one.Underneath is Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor with Adreno 306 GPU, LTE capable and 4,200 mAh battery

I also brought in some camera samples too both taken in low light at the event's venue at The Nest in BGC.

First impressions: Just like with the Samsung Galaxy S6, I felt the presence of a lighter TouchWiz version on the Galaxy Tab A. The camera performance output and performance is good enough if this device is your only available device to shoot some pics and vids on a good lighting environment. Value-added features like the S Note (which you have to use the S Pen) plus the multi window worked best for me. Out if 16 GB ROM, it has over 10 GB of app storage which is very good from it's Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS. Micro SIM slot is hot swappable which is another plus for me. The display and overall build are still a-ok. How I wish that I had a chance to test it's LTE capability. One drawback for me is the 1.2 days life when you put in the Ultra Power Saving Mode at 100% battery mainly coz the display will still be in color unlike their previous devices with that feature which it's display will go into black and white.
