Huawei P8 first impressions, camera samples, possible Philippines price

I was not there at the Singapore launch but lucky that I was able to have a little hands-on and some camera samples and the possible PH SRP of the Huawei P8

The front has 8 MP selfie camera with 5.2 inch IPS NEO LCD Full HD display covered with Gorilla Glass 3. The back has also GG3 plus 13 MP rear camera wth flash and Huawei logo. The back cover is not removable.

At the top, you can check the noise-cancelling mic and 3.5 mm. audio jack while dual speakers, micro USB port and pin hole mic at the bottom.

Nothing to expect at the left part as on the right, you can see the volume rocker, power/unlock button and dual nano SIM slots. SIM 2 slot also acts as a micro SD slot.

Both the 13 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera have 4:3 aspect ratio when you shot some pictures. I checked the device that out of 16 GB ROM, it has over 10.2 GB for app storage.

A glimpse of the "control center" which are divided by notifications and shortcuts. The multi tasking UI reminds me of some of the smartphones from Acer.

And the camera samples. The rear camera was shot in an ample light while the front camera is in low light condition.

First impressions: I love the overall build and design of the device which can match up with this year's flagship phones. The EMUI 3.0 has also improved a lot compared when I had it with the P7. The output of both cameras are impressive to me so far. There's even an instance that I compared it it's rear camera with my co-tech bloggers rear cam shot using the Mi 3 and my vote is on the P8 coz of the deeper blue of the Slipstream 2.0 fan.

One of the sales person there when I had this hands-on during the Globe Slipstream 2.0 event said that this will be on sale soon for Php 21,999. I'm not gonna post it as offical PH price as we will have to wait for the official info but it's quite believable for me if based on Huawei P8 Globe Slipstream 2.0 MyLifestyle Plan 1499 (bundled with Huawei Talkband 2). For me, this is quite really a value-for-money flagship level phone.
