I've done my number of tests to the highly-anticipated Asus ZenPower 10,050 mAh powerbank which will be available soon. Here's my take.
On the form factor, it is really lighter and more pocket friendly that the competing powerbank that I mentioned in the next paragraph. When I had an event and I'm in semi-formal attire, I even put on the powerbank into my polo's pocket and no stress at all. I love the gold color and good thing, it is not prone to normal dusts that you'll almost gonna encounter everyday.
I had rounds of charging it with different smartphones that I have on my review table and based on what I observed, I'm getting around 80% of the actual 10,050 mAh powerbank capacity which is not bad (there's still no 100% powerbank capacity that I enountered so far, even the Mi Powerbank)
Next is the input in reality. The user manual said that it can be fully charged for 6 hours via a 2 ampere plug. In my case using a 2 ampere charger, I can put the powerbank in full capacity for around 5 hours and 45 minutes. At least, they hit the target and their promise.
I also did a test (which is I'm not sure if it is one of the ZenPower's 11 safety features) like what I did to another powerbank. I plugged the ends of micro USB and USB cord in the input and output ports and this is what I got which is a plus.
The product has auto-on feature which it will start to charge once you put in your mobile device. Sadly, it doesn't have auto-off feature (if your device is fully charged) but like what I experienced in my previous powerbank review, this can be an advantage for those who practice trickle charging.
I'm not sure if it is an isolated case but take a look at the picture above when I;m charging an international smartphone. The LED indicators are not accurate as it is very clear from the smartphone's screen that it is still on charge via the powerbank. I hope Asus will gonna check it soon in their next batch of ZenPower.
Pros: lighter than most of it's competitors with the same capacity, form factor, not prone to dusts, charges quickly as advertised, (for sure) the availability, price
Cons: inaccurate LED indicators, single output port
I agree with my fellow tech bloggers that the availability of the ZenPower both on stores and thru Lazada will be the greatest strength of Asus ZenPower 10,050 mAh powerbank over the competition. The Php 795 SRP is not bad at all considering of the other expenses if this will be in an offline store. No wonder that I got the same great quality of Asus on this powerbank like in their laptops, smartphones and tablets. I'm sure that this will gonna sell a lot this year. I'll gonna give 4.5 out of 5 for the Asus ZenPower 10,050 mah Powerbank.
