Food is also one of my main focus for this blog. At it's 2nd year, good thing that I'm back at Sikat National Food Fair 2015 as I had a gastronomical experience.
I noticed (compared to last year) that there are a lot of newcomers, more merchants and more known brands (some of them like San Miguel Corporation, Marca Leon, Julie's Bakeshop, etc.) occupied the 3 halls of SM Megatrade Hall in Megamall.
One of the comebacking companies there is Permex Tuna and Paradiso Sardines booth. Do you remember my podcast interview with them last year? This time, I saw 2 new people that were in charge and I asked on their plan last year to have their products at Puregold. One of the representatives said that it didn't push through due to some conditions. Anyway, you can still purchase their products in WalterMart and Makati Supermarket and if you'll gonna go there at the fair, you can buy their products at factory prices.
One of the few pickss that I'm interested, liked and tried it: The competitive carabao's milk prices and unique yoghurts of Sta. Maria Dairy (for southies, you can buy their products at The Metro and Makati Supermarket in ATC), the Unoy rice (how I wish that I want to try to eat the Unoy Champorado without chocolate but because of the language barrier). Rachelle's Sherbet and Ice Cream, Island Flavors Coconut, Mango and Pineapple Gummy, Golden Mushroom's Mushroom Sisig, Oh My Ulam! Lechon Paksiw (from the makers of Mega Sardines), Sorel Coconut Sap Sugar (from the makers of Marca Leon Oil), Amadeo liquor from Destileria Limtauco (it was made from Amadeo coffeee, even that it has 27% alcohol content, it is not painful to my throat - that "gumuguhit" feeling), Antonio Pueo Double Chocolate Oatmeal, Wonder Coffee 3 in 1 from Holsum Foods Inc. (the first 3-in-1 coffee that I saw with muscovado sugar, priced nicely at P74 per 12 sachets & currently available in Hi Top Supermarket and Cherry Foodarama both in Cubao) and Gusto Powdered Juice (mango based juice but a lot of rare fruits and herbal supplements which can enhance the body)
Sikat National Food Fair 2015 is ongoing until March 29, 2015 and it's free admission but better to prepare some money to buy as some products can only be available during the said fair. Now, it's picture galore:
