Both devices will be powered by the 64-bit 14 nm Exynos 7420, an octa-core processor with 4 Cortex A-57 clocked at 2.1 GHz and 4 Cortex A-53 clocked at 1.5 GHz. The display has 5.1 inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display wrapped around with Gorilla Glass 4 Of course, the S6 Edge will have the dual curve display.
Other specs are 16 MP AF rear camera with f/1.9 aperture, 5 MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. Not clear though on the rear based on their livestream but the front camera will have real-time HDR, It has 3 GB DDR4 RAM with choices of 32, 64 and 128 GB ROM. The storage will have the the UFS 2.0 technology. Also , both have Bluetooth 4.1, LTE Cat 6, WiFi ac, NFC, GPS, IR Blaster and FM Radio.
S6 will have 2,550 mAh battery while it's 2,600 mAh for the S6 Edge. The brand promised better battery life with up to 12 hours on WiFi, 11 hours on LTE and 49 hours of music playback. The device also promised that in 10 minutes, it can charge 4 hours worth of usage and half the time from 0 to 100 percent compared to iPhone 6.
Other noticeable features are the Samsung Pay which combines NFC and MST technology that can accept both MasterCard and Visa, double tap the home button to launch the camera app for about 0.7 seconds, it's 6.89 mm. thickness and wireless charging. In the tech discussion after the livestream, they even had a flip cover for the S6 Edge which can also do charge wireless.
The S6 will be available this April 10, 2015 in 20 countries, to be followed soon to other areas this May. The S6 colors are White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Blue Topaz. On S6 Edge, there will be White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Green Emerald. Prices will be followed soon.
