Cherry Mobile was last year's leader in smartphone shipments by vendor followed by Samsung, MyPhone, Lenovo and Torque. A total of 26.8 million mobile phones were shipped which 47% of those are smartphones. Interesting fact that the 3 known local mobile phone brands took the the top 3 spots. One of the factors is number of sub-Php4,000 smartphones which brought in to the 58% of smartphone shipments.
IDC are expecting in PH that feature phone sales will go down to 20% and smartphone prices will go down further as vendors will push the price limits for a sub-Php2,000 smartphone.
