I used to surf to my Facebook account on browser rather than it's app coz of heavy baggage that it brings on app storage, mobile data usage and RAM. Good thing, the known social media site unleashed the Facebook Lite.
They released this kind version mainly to attract users in some countries which has poor internet connection. Aside from that, this app only consumes less than 1 MB to your app storage. In my experience, the app only consumes less than 9 MB to my RAM. This is great as we still see some budget Android phones which only has 2G mobile internet and minimal number of ROM and RAM.
To push it's capabilities, I put in this app on my spare 2G-only smartphone with 256 MB RAM and it works real fine on EDGE connection. The UI is kinda inspired to those FB apps from the Symbian era. Good news, as it works on the currently available Free FB + Viber promo as well for Smart Free Internet. I only had 1 peso load on Globe sim that I used and no problem. It can even access your fave FB pages and groups. The cons of this app: it doesn't play those FB videos and can only upload pics one by one.
As I checked it last Monday night, I can't see it on Google Play but this Google Drive link from known tech site Android Authority has the apk for you to download it. Enjoy the FB Lite service :)
