3 important things revealed by Torque President and CEO

I’m glad that I had a chance to talk with Torque President and CEO Mr. Chris Uyco at their recent launch at One Esplanade a few weeks ago. Coz of that (aside from the usual things that I asked that revolves about the local mobile and tablet brand), I would like to share to you the 3 important things that is related to Torque
First, what I really like on the brand coz of providing dual band 3G support from all of their Android devices from the single core Droidz Sky 3G phone up to the octa-core Droidz Extreme FHD tablet. Sir Chris loved on what I said (as I also asked it if it is a conscious effort or by coincidence) as the brand took some attention on that. He said to me that he’s an ECE graduate  so he knews how does the difference of that must have for mobile date (at least for this country) compared to a smartphone with only single band 3G capability.

Next is Torque’s first possible Android device with digital TV. To give you a background, there are 3 devices with digital TV so far: the Starmobile Engage 7 TV and Engage 7 TV+ tablets and the Move Apollo smartphone. As the country will have digital TV soon , I asked the executive on it’s possibility coz the analog mobile TV feature in some phones and tablets will be useless once the analog TV signal will be unavailable (possibly on 2016). He said that there are a few more permits to comply compared to a normal phone/tablet with analog mobile TV.

Finally, the existence of Torque Droidz Marvel FHD (yes, don’t be confused at the Torque Droidz Marvel HD). Around summer of 2014, it was leaked via a brochure at around Php 12,499 then last June, I got a brochure with the lower price tag at Php 9,999. I asked if this octa-core phone will be up (finally) this 2015, he said that it will not gonna be on stores anymore as they will gonna focused on their more affordable octa-cores like the  Droidz Marvel HD and the Droidz Octave. Im my own opinion, it’s a good move for the brand as 2015 for sure we will gonna see more octa-core phones at around 5k or 6k (depending on the features). We might already see the  future by the Php 4,999 octa-core phone from another local mobile phone brand.
