Last weekend, I dropped by at the Samsung Hall inside SM Aura to celebrate the launching of this cool magazine named Scout.
Scout magazine is one unique reading material which caters the hip youth from fashion, music and several other topics. Their maiden issue was Eyedress, a guy who came from a local indie band whobecame the 1st Pinoy to have a record deal in London.
The theme of the launch party was 90s to arcade games (which I played Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 twice and I finished it), to a freedom wall which asked their 90s crush, fave 90s band and their heartbreak/s during that decade.
Good thing, sponsors were nice like Colt 45 who gave away free booze, Shakey’s for the free pizza and Systema Tooth and Gum Care which raffled off a number of Swatch watches. LPs from the Heima store were also there on sale.
What’s nice was they featured some cool indie acts like The Ransom Collective, DancePlayCreate, Autotelic, The Strangeness, Ang Bandang Shirley, Cheats, Tarsius and Pedicab.
Ms. Cai, Scout’s editor-of-chief gave a speech in behalf of the magazine as to celebrate this nice offering in print.
Scout Magazine copies will be there for free in selected colleges, universities and establishments. I heard some like in Ateneo, The One School and some Starbucks branches.
