It’s a wonderful opportunity that Mr. Hugo Barra of Xiaomi arrived here a few days ago for his important first visit here. It’s obvious that Xiaomi Philippines is for real very soon.
Even though I was not invited (sadly) in their meet-up with other tech bloggers in the country, I got some juicy bits that something we can rely on straight from Mr. Barra himself according to our tipster:1. Aside from the online stores, there will be 7 physical shops around the country. We have no idea if they also gonna sell Xiaomi devices there but expect that you can test and check their line-up of devices.
2. There will be over 50 drop-by centers nationwide in case that your device will break down.. They will repair it as soon as possible and it will be also sent to the customer.
3. So far, there is no exclusive distributor of Xiaomi devices in the Philippines. Currently, Lazada is selling some Xiaomi phones.
4. The brand is currently in talks with telcos for possible postpaid plans. I hope this will push through soon as for those who want a Xiaomi handset in instalment plus your desired call, text and mobile net plan.
5. A hotline will be set-up in Metro Manila for more questions and inquiries.
There we have it. As long as the Xiaomi devices will be as great as their affordable prices, the price-conscious yet techy Pinoys are there in open arms for Xiaomi Philippines.
