From that idea of Phoneblocs to this latest project from Google known as Project Ara which you can change the vital parts of your smartphone either for an upgrade or maybe share that great feature to your family or friends.
I’m happy to this new development as it promotes less e-waste soon as well as to having a second option instead of buying a new phone with better specs. They already had a demo as expected at the recent Google I/O 2014.As you can see at our screenshots, the back panel has some different parts. The emcee explained as this was a test unit that the main page of Android will appear after a minute. An acceptable thing happened that in the screenshot, the screen has 1/3 of the Android main page and 2/3 on the Android logo.
They currently have a contest for MDKs which the winning piece win $100,000.
I hope that soon (before the end of 2015, I guess) that this project will be commercially available. Now, I imagine at my nearby electronics shop to buy a high-powered main camera for my future Project Ara smartphone.
