MyPhone Rio Fun unboxing, first impressions, benchmarks (updated)

Good thing that I have a chance to share to you some sneak peek on what to expect on the MyPhone Rio Fun, thanks to our friends from the known local mobile phone brand.

At the packaging, I can’t imagine that it has a P2,999 price tag. Very neat to my taste. You can check on what’s inside

At the front, you can check the VGA front camera and the 5 inch FWVGA display plus the 3 capacitive buttons. At the back, you can see the 3.2 MP rear camera with flash, the MyPhone Logo and Rio Fun name. The back cover has a matte finish.

At the top, the 3.5 mm audio jack and micro-USB (not USB capable) slot. At the bottom comes the pin hole mic.

At the left portion, volume rocker is located while at the right where you can see the power/unlock button.

At our Antutu benchmark, it scored at 11,375. In CPU-Z, it revealed that it has the 1.3 Ghz Mediatek MT6572 dual-core chipset with Mali-400 GPU. At Nenamark 2, I got a 40.8 fps.

Update: I added more benchmarks that I did for your own observation

Quadrant: 4373

2 point multi-touch and no colliding issues at the center
Sensors: As I checked it in real life: what's working are the accelerometer, light, proximity and sound sensors

Expect to have a full review of this newest budget phablet from MyPhone

MyPhone Rio Fun specs:

Android 4.2.2 Jellybean
1.3 Ghz Mediatek MT6572 dual core chipset
Mali 400 GPU
Dual sim (no 3g)
5 inch FWVGA display
3.2 MP fixed focus rear camera with flash
VGA front camera camera
512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM
Micro SD up to 32 GB
USB OTG not supported
1800 maH battery
P2,999

First impressions: CTIA-complaiant so you can use the pause/play button from your fave 3rd party earphones or headphones. It has 2 notifications so far, one for text messages and another while charging based on my unit
