We only had a last minute decision to make it to the 2nd day of Laguna Blogging Summit happened last November 15 at Cultural Center of Laguna in Sta. Cruz, Laguna due to another tentative blogging event and an enticing invite from the @labsummit Official Twitter page.
The event already started at
past 830am with an opening mass. Past 930am when the event started. First, it
was Atty. Chris Lao (not on pic unfortunately) who had a discussion on cyber
bullying.
After that, it was Mr. Ben
Francia as he brought a topic that we love to learn more about, the search
engine optimization or SEO. We also had a littleQ and A with him as we got it
for our podcast soon.
Past 12pm when we and all the
people and students who were there to take a lunch break.
Past 1pm when James Jimenez of
Comelec took the stage as he discussed on all about the elections and blogging.
Just like the last speaker, we engaged on him on a a Q and A
After that, here comes the
voicemaster Pocholo Gonzales as he entertained us with his topics on branding
and his past work experiences. He even had a little sample of his voice acting
skills.
Next was Ben Guevara who is an
environmentalist as he warned us on the massive effects of global warming and
what are the solutions that we can do to overcome it
Last in the line-up of
speakers was blogger Ross del Rosario as he taught us on how to create more
attention in your blog in a short manner of time.
In between speakers, the event
also has games that were dedicated mostly to students who were present at the
area. Most of the students were from Laguna State Polytechnic University, De La
Salle Zobel and STI Sta. Cruz
In snack break, we got a
blueberry muffin from one of the sponsors, Gardenia
Here comes the comments:
Aside from that tentative
blogging event, one of the enticing reasons on why we came there was because
@labsummit said that the 2nd day will already be for free even we
are not students. For insurance, we took a screenshot for the evidence.
Note: we got this development on the afternoon of November 14 2013 at the 1st day of the event

Sadly, it was not
followed. Head Organizer Grace Nicolas
asked us to still pay the P200 entrance despite of the screenshot that we tried
to show but she left us in blank. It ended for us to pay the dues. Another case
of “no truth in tweeting” for us this year. Another sad thing was the lack of
updates after the 1st day of the said event. We were surprised that
the line-up of speakers were not exactly as said in the press release. For us,
we also came there to learn more from those speakers that we are expecting on
the 2nd day.
We left the area and the town
itself in a bit disappointed mood after the event. As we don’t want to ruin the
event, we chose to ask the event organizer/s on what happened starting Nov. 16 to Nov. 18
November 16 for Blogapalooza
Day when we saw 3 of the bloggers who helped to put in the said event. Only 1
of them has the know-how on what happened as the blogger also follows our
Twitter account. The blogger admitted that he/she answered the last tweet from
@labsummit confirming that we can go there for free. The blogger even offered
us for a refund if possible.
November 18, 2013 when we
already got the attention of Ms. Grace. Here are the answers:
Explanation: On the press launch happened a week before the event, we are aware that there is P200 to be paid but the response that we got from @labsummit was the latest which we got last November 14.

For sticking for what is real
as got the screenshot earlier, we are ready for the refund. We asked if we can
get thru a money transfer but she replied that we can get it from her.
Aside from that refund issue,
we also addressed the lack of update/s of the speaker line-up but we never got
an answer from her.
Some may say that the P200 is
quite small for us to battle it out but the truth on tweeting is priceless.
Before this event, we questioned some of the Twitter-related promos or events
either in lack of info or it was contrary to the real thing that happened just
for this year. We witnessed some of it. A P200 is a lot depending on how you
gonna spend it. For us, that was already a round trip fare for this said event
or better to donate a good bag of relief goods for Yolanda victims.
We are aiming to get the
refund soon in the name of the truth in tweeting. For the event, we had a score
of 3.5 out of 5 for this coz of the flaws. We hope this will also serve as a
guide for future events soon.
