Myphone Iceberg launch: Specs, first impressions and camera sample

Last Friday, we arrived at the Eastwood City to witness Myphone's latest offering, the Iceberg.

We were happy to had a little test to the said device. As for our big hands, the phone with a 5.7 inch display is quite easy to handle aside that it is very thin. Too bad that we don't have a ruler to check the thickness. Here are the top, left and back portions of the phone.

The specs:

  • 1.2 GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT6589 Processor, Cortex-A7
  • Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean
  • 5.7 Inch High Definition IPS Display at 720 x 1280 Pixel Resolution
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 2 Scratch Resistant
  • 12 Megapixel Autofocus Rear Camera with LED Flash and BSI
  • 5 MegaPixel Autofocus Front Camera
  • PowerVR Series 5XT GPU
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 16 GB Internal Storage
  • No MicroSD Slot
  • WiFi, WiFi Hotspot
  • 3G (HSPA+), EDGE, GPRS, GSM
  • Bluetooth and GPS
  • Wireless Display
  • USB OTG
  • FM Radio
  • Light, Motion, Proximity and Magnetic Sensors
  • 2,600 mAh Li-ion Battery
  • ₱11,988.00

As for the video playback using the stock video player, as expected that playing, rewinding and forwarding the 1080p video is a breeze

As we confirmed, this device has no micro sd slot it has 16gb of internal storage. As checked, it has over 12 gb remaining inside.

One that we usually check is the FM radio. Good thing, it has also the FM radio recording option.

Another check, this device runs on Android 4.2.1 Jellybean

We also checked the wireless charging feature. It will run as long as you'll also have the back cover for the device

Another feature that delight us is the wireless display if you want to see your device on the bigger screen. It is usable for us esp. for gaming and doing some docs

Good thing, consumers already had the chance to buy the device on the same day

As a treat, we were lucky to have a photo sample straight from it's 12mp rear BSI cam. Taken in low light with no adjustment in settings. You can download it for comparison purposes (Link: http://adf.ly/T2s3V )

We are hoping for the full review of this device once we have the chance.
