We missed a number of Vivo devices since late 2018 for some weird reason. Finally at the start of year 2022, Vivo Philippines knocked on our doors once again to check out their latest V phone - Vivo V2 5G.

It's been years since we saw FuntouchOS and it had a lot of changes since late 2018. Goodbye to their control panel when you swipe from the bottom and now, you can check it by swiping from the top of the screen like almost all of Android phones used to do. Square icons are now inside of it.
Navigating it in back and forth and in multi tasking mode, Vivo had some improvements on their own custom Android offering in terms of speed plus with the power of Mediatek Dimensity 920.
On connectivity, Vivo V23 5G passed on flying colors on calls, mobile data on both LTE and 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS.
On battery, Vivo V23 5G survived at 21 hours and 10 minutes in our video battery rundown test. With it's 44 watt charger, the device got it in less than an hour from 0 to 100% battery. Using it as our daily driver for over a week in heavy usage, we can easily survived this one for over 24 hours
On Antutu with it's latest OTA update for March 2022, V23 5G got it at 473,670 with around less than 10% improvement in score compared to previous scoring on some local tech postings.
Marketed as a "vlogging phone", Vivo V23 5G was true to it's words as it has a lot of photo and video modes from a number of photo and video filters (which you will gonna see in our videos below) plus their dual selfie lights helped us in vlogging even on low lights. Not sure if on the processor or on the UI but we noticed that it is easily get a bit hot on shooting 60 fps or on 4K compared to the previous phone that we reviewed with a bit weaker but from the same brand.
Video and photo quality overall for us were more than average. One thing that they must improve is there's no timer on their timelapse button

Vivo V23 5G is selling in the Philippines for Php 26,999. As of this time, there's only one other phone with the same processor but sells for Php 19,990 but it's their tradition to sell that low. The advantages that we can tell is the dual selfie lights, connectivity, UI, charging and battery life plus lots of camera modes on photo and video were the strengths of Vivo V23 5G. One issue that they can fix soon is to at lessen the heat that it produces with only a few minutes of shooting videos plus the time lapse issue too.
For us. it's 4 out of 5 for Vivo V23 5G which is still available in authorized offline and online channels.
