After their Affordabox, GMA Network is about to challenge the likes of what MyPhone and ABS-CBN had done years ago.
Earlier from their official website, they announced GMA Now which is their digital TV dongle so that you can able to watch free-to-air DTV programs for free with your smartphone either it has micro USB or Type C port.
Aside from other DTV channels, expect that you can watch GMA Network, GMA News TV, Hallypop, Heart of Asia and DepEd TV on your Android-based smartphones and tablets. Additional features include GMA Videos-On-Demand which once you turn on either your mobile data or WiFi connection, you can watch various GMA-related videos on demand and other Kapuso-exclusive content.
As a statement from GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe Gozon “As the country's leading broadcast network, it is only fitting that we continue to improve our content and innovate our digital TV products. This is our way of expressing gratitude to our loyal Kapuso for their unceasing support. We are proud to say that GMA Now is the first mobile DTT receiver to combine traditional TV with the advantages of interactivity via the internet. This product was developed by our digital media and technology arm GMA New Media, Inc. with the Filipino viewers in mind as we adapt to their evolving needs and interests.”
According to them, the minimum Android device specs to run this device must have a 1 GHz dual core processor, OTG support and as old as Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Aside from the dongle, the box also includes manual and micro USB to Type C dongle. They also revealed that it will be also available soon for iOS devices. Once you have the device, you also need to download GMA Now app on Google Play for free.
GMA Now DTV dongle is now available on Lazada or Shopee thru this link for Php 649
