OnePlus 5 Unboxing, First Look, Camera Samples

Ten days before the official availability from a local tech store, yours truly was able to get in some hands-on of OnePlus' 2017 high-end device

This is the OnePlus 5 but first, the front and back views of the box. At their by-invite event, they have the 6 GB RAM/64 GB ROM variant which is slate gray

The box inside, simple approach. User manual, their proprietary regular USB to USB Type C cable which only works best on their  Dash Charge adapter with 5V 4A configuration. For the rest of the specs, you can check out the specs in this separate post.

These are the front and back views of the Slate Gray OnePlus 5. They have a quite unique approach for their presentation as they even pinpoint where the NFC sensor. I already watched some Youtube videos as I just noticed the noise cancelling microphone beside the dual main camera system. When I touched the back, it has matte finish and in high quality standards on the touch. The antenna lines are a bit embossed but a not bad thing for me.

At the top and bottom, the sexy curves are definitely there on the OnePlus 5

At the left, there's their slider button and volume rocker and at the right, dual nano SIM and power/unlock button. In case you will be asking, there's no micro SD slot in here

On the overall physical looks for me, OnePlus 5 is very good for the asking price.

I am still trying to get on their OnePlus 3T but the lightness of the OxygenOS inside the OnePlus 5, I literally felt it as I threw a number of apps just to get on the 6 GB RAM. If there is only one important missing piece for me, no FM radio on the app list. Unlike on what happened at first at the OnePlus, no more issue of "missing RAM" as I checked on the settings that it has respectable 5.6 GB RAM running inside.

I was on a limited time so jumped right in on the camera system. I made sure to cover one of the features of the hardware add-on which is their 2x zoom. I checked the exif data and the main cam has f/1.7 and the zoom camera goes for f/2.6 . Navigating the camera is so easy for me. Tap the three lines to get more of the modes.

The left panel for video, center panel for the main camera and the right panel for the depth of field m,oe No bad thing so far after I got these final products. The selfie camera is also very good to my liking as I shot this inside Recession Coffee and Digital Walker inside Eastwood. I never saw it yet on international tech reviews as I checked on the settings as you can put in OnePlus watermark on your rear camera pics plus you can also put in your name. It is not available for now for selfies

The one that I tested, the 6 GB RAM/64 GB ROM is on pre-order price of Php 25,990 and 8 GB RAM/128 GB ROM for Php 29,990. When I had a chat to Mr. Charles Paw of Digital Walker, it will be for now at 10 pieces per branch so better to pre-order asap if you want to get the OnePlus 5. The pre-order is running right now until July 14, 2017 from our tech colleagues at Yugatech thru this pre-order link

Also special thanks to Christoff (also from Digital Walker) from some additional info and help
