BS Mobile Flux Hands On, Official Specs, Camera Samples

BS Mobile Flux launch was ended earlier at Starmall but the main focus on us will be their newest LTE phablet itself and to uncover the official specs.
The front has 5 MP FF front camera and 5.5 inch HD display. As you can see, the black bezels that surrounds the display are visible plus the capacitive buttons. The back has 8 MP rear camera with flash, removable back cover, BS Mobile and Flux letterings. The fingerprint like sensor was only part of the design. The overall feel does not look bad for the price. Yes, definitely it was made from plastic. Drop the 8-core thing as it has a 1.5 GHz 64 bit Mediatek MT6735P with 4 Cortex-A53 cores (that is a quad-core phablet). That is a first in the country as we already saw the 1.0 and 1.3 GHz variants of it in the past 9 months.  Of course, it has 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM. Their own UI does not have an app drawer but the pulldown menu and settings are almost stock Android 5.1 Lollipop. I wonder if we can put in a third party launcher in there.

The volume rocker and power/unlock button are both located at the right side. The metal-like curved sidings were there which is really a big step-up compared to their previous devices that I handled late last year.

The top has the micro USB port and 3.5 mm. audio jack. Confirmed that it does not have OTG support but will check soon if the audio jack is CTIA compliant. The opposite end has a single speaker and pin hole microphone.

Removing the back, you will gonna see the dual micro SIM slots and micro SD slot and the 2,800 mAh removable Li-ioN battery. Out of 8 GB ROM, you will gonna get

As you can see, I inserted my OTG thumbdrive and based on the storage stettings, the mount USB storage is hidden which puts in a possibility that they can tweak it in for possible OTG function. Both cameras can shoot full screen in 8 and 5 MP shooters. That basic camera app was there inside.

Glimpse of phone and messaging apps.

I was not able to put in Antutu maybe coz of version and OS compatibility reasons but AIDA64 app gave us the real processor and display resolution. I wonder that the brand did not tell it at first but a 5.5 inch HD display is still acceptable. Available and working sensors include acceleromter, light, proximity and sound.

The phablet has 2 point multi touch and the internal storage was supplied from Kingston. The device also has those smart wake options that we used to know and the Miravision which might work or not work for your video marathon. I was not able to put in some videos to check but definitely will go for a try very soon.

And the camera samples. Both shooters have f/2.8 aperture and the advertised megapixels can shoot even at full screen mode. I noticed that there is a 1.5 seconds time after you press the shutter button to when you saw your picture in the viewfinder. Obviously, the selfie camera does not have a wide angle lens. The pictures were taken in a good lighting beside the BS Mobile kiosk in Starmall Alabang.

The thing that made me down so far was the lack of OTG capability but can be enabled via software tweaks. Just forget about the octa-core thing but a 64-bit 1.5 GHz quad-core is not bad at all and definitely will be faster than the Php 2,999 LTE phone that they teased last year. The camera output is acceptable and the built plus the removable battery are a-ok for the Php 3,599 price tag. Two things to check in is the daily performance and the battery life which I am really aiming to do a review of it soon. BS Mobile Flux is now available in BS Mobile kiosks around the country and soon thru Lazada Philippines.
