Cubix Cube unboxing, first impressions, Antutu (update!)

I am happy after the Cherry Mobile Flare X and Cubix brand launch that I have something new to review. Technically, it's my first time for this year to unbox a device from Cosmic Technologies. Here is the Cubix Cube.

These are the front and back portions of the box. You can already have a sneak peek of it's key specs including the Mediatek logo.

The front has 5 MP selfie camera, soft capacitive Android buttons and 5 inch HD On-cell display. The back has 13 MP rear camera with flash and Cubix logo. The back cover is glossy but not that much prone into finger prints.

When you'll remove the back cover, you can check the 2,000 mAh removable with 1 regular SIM slot, 1 micro SIM slot and 1 micro SD slot. I will verify soon on my upcoming review if this has dual 3G. The right side already have the volume rocker and power/unlock button.

On the top, you can check the full CTIA compliant 3.5 mm. audio jack and OTG-capable micro USB port. At the bottom, you'll gonna see a little spacing for removing the back cover and pin hole mic.

The package also includes instruction manual, screen protector, in-ear headphones, 1 ampere USB plug and micro USB to USB cable.

Peter of GeekyPinas requested to check it's Antutu and my effort was paid off by this score. Woah at 32,206 verified score at Antutu which surpassed a typical 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6592 phone with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB ROM at around 31,000. Take note that it has a bit slower but battle-tested 1.4 GHz variant of the said SoC with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB ROM which will give you more clues on my first impressions

First impressions: The app icons are kinda customized but the whole UI itself is stock Android which I am very happy. I'm also glad that out of 16 GB ROM, it has over 13 GB for app storage. Based on my navigation on switching apps, I can really feel more smoothness on this one compared to my daily driver, Cherry Mobile Infinix Pure with the same Soc and 1 GB RAM/8 GB ROM combo. I appreciated that it has a built-in plus an extra screen protector. Two things that I don't like so far were the slighly protuded rear camera and no chance for hot swapping my SIM cards and micro SD which I love from my current phone but let's see what I can do for some adjustments.

Cubix Cube will be available this June 26, 2015 at 12 nn exclusive at Lazada Philippines for Php 4,499. Watch out for my review soon.

You can only buy Cubix Cube exclusive at Lazada Philippines. Buy the black version here or the gold version here

Update: I found last Saturday that it has 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6592 octa-core processor instead of 1.4 GHz that was printed on the box. Also, I had a closer look that after I peeled the plastic with specs - there's no built-in screen protector so you have to put in the provided screen protector DIY style
